After failed attempts to get Kyari to honour a formal invitation by the agency, he was declared wanted during a briefing by NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, at its National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

The NDLEA officials in a sting operation, played along with Kyari to sell part of the exhibit drugs and share the money.
The money from the sale of the 5kg share of the NDLEA team, amounted to a total of $61, 400.
In the event which led to his indictment, the NDLEA officer took the money from the drug sale in a car that was wired with sound and video recorders.
Thereafter, Police authorities apprehended Kyari and four other police officers and handed them over to the NDLEA.
Other officers concerned include ACP Sunday Ubuah, ASP Bawa James, ASP John Umoru (at large), Inspector Simon Agrigba and John Nuhu.
