ASUU Strike: “If we do not take hard decisions, we are postponing the evil day.” -JAMB Registrar

Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has begged the Academic Staff Union of Universities to call off their ongoing strike.
The professor made the call during his visits to some of the centres in Lagos where JAMB’s mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination commenced on Saturday.
He added that both the ASUU and the federal government have to have to put up with tough decisions if the problems are to be tackled permanently.
In his words: “I appeal to ASUU, I appeal to government. Pease solve the problem so our children can go back to school.
“Even if ASUU goes back to the classroom, that will not prevent it from happening tomorrow.
“I believe that what we should do is to look at the system. And take some very hard decisions. If we do not take hard decisions, we are postponing the evil day.” he added.
