China, Thailand Commence Joint Air Strikes

A joint air exercise between China and Thailand was launched in northeastern Taiwan on Sunday.

Nexus News learnt that the exercise tagged ‘Falcon Strike’, marks the first of its kind and the second largest Chinese training operation.

Bangkok Post reports that the commander of the Thai Air Force, Parabas Surinshaidi, said that these exercises, which will continue until August 25 are aimed at strengthening relations with China.

The Chinese Ministry of Defense announced last week that the visiting Chinese unit will include bombers, combat aircraft and airborne warning aircraft (AEW).

The Ministry added that the exercises will include training on “air support, strikes on ground targets, and the deployment of forces on a large and small scale.
