Tennis genius, Serena Williams hints at retirement

American Tennis genius, Serena Williams has on Monday, mentioned that she might soon consider retiring from playing tennis.

“I love playing, though… but, you know, I can’t do this forever. Sometimes you just want to try your best to enjoy the moments, and do the best that you can.” she said, after scoring a victory at the National Bank Open on Monday.

Serena also disclosed that she hopes to to spend time with her family,  especially her five-year-old daughter, Olympia and  husband, Alexis Ohanian, who have been trying to have another child with her.

“We recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we are ready, we can add to our family,” She added.

The Michigan born has gained a victory of seven Wimbledon titles, seven Australian Opens, six US Opens and three French Opens – with her last major triumph coming at Melbourne Park in 2017.

She hadn’t won since the French Open in 2021 and her latest win captions a significant milestone for her.

The 40-year-old is one of most celebrated tennis players with a record of 23 Grand Slams earned over decades.
