We’ll Continue To Reject APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket – Dogara
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has emphasized the Forum of Northern Christians in the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to counter the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Dogara affirmed this on Tuesday in Abuja following a closed-door meeting with all state chairmen of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Confirming the meeting in a tweet on his verified Twitter page on Tuesday, Dogara wrote: “#NigeriaDecides2023: The fight for justice continues. Today (yesterday), we held a consultative meeting with Christian leaders from the 19 Northern States and the FCT on the pan-Nigerian platform to adopt in 2023.”
According to the former speaker, the forum would not defy its position regarding the same-faith ticket, saying it will continue to battle for justice.
However, Dogara said the forum would convene with all the presidential candidates across party lines and come up with its preferred candidate.
Those in attendance at the meeting include Dogara, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal; Adamawa Senator, Elisha Abbo; former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba and all Northern CAN chairmen.
